SPHR Certification Requirements


Minimum criteria to be met by all SPHR Certification applicants:

  • Candidates must obtain the SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification from Society of Human Resource Management Institute
  • Must possess a post-graduation in any specific or general field of human resource and Minimum of 4 years of relevant and full time work experience

OR

  • Must possess a graduation in any specific or general field of human resource and Minimum of 5 years of relevant and full time work experience

OR

  • Must possess a high school degree and Minimum of 7 years of relevant and full time work experience

Other requirements for become a skilful SPHR Certificate candidate:

  1. Candidates should display skills in keeping abreast with all the HR news and developments
  2. Candidates should know how to carry out planning and execution of human resource tasks, take care of recruitment and planning, and display skills in improving employee morale
  3. Candidates should be able to deal with internal and external issues that are in the purview of the human resources division
  4. To renew the certification and display their continuously updated skills in HR, candidates must go for recertification.

General Requirements for ALL SPHR applicantsĀ (According to their specialisation)

  • Knowledge in the following areas is necessary. SPHR certification examination will cover questions from the following topics:
  • Planning Strategy of the organization
  • Resource allocation and mobilisation
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Dealing with labour issues
  • Employee training and development
  • Managing risks
