Repairman Certificate Requirements

A repairman certificate is a formal document which is issued by the aviation department of a country to those candidates or applicants who satisfy certain criteria and are eligible to become repairman as far as airplanes and aircraft maintenance is concerned. A certified repairman works in the repair station of the aviation unit of the state or country and thus a repairman certificate is necessary and important for people wishing to work at such a high end position. But one must meet all the requirements which can make him/her eligible to get the repairman certificate.  For example, in the USA, The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is the department which issues such certificates, to those who meet certain standard requirements.

The following are the basic and common requirements for a person to obtain a repairman certificate. These requirements might vary and be different for each country or area.

  • The person must be 18 years or above to be eligible to obtain the repairman certificate.
  • The person must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to obtain the repairman certificate.
  • He/she must have an experience of 18 months or more with airframes or power plant units. If a person lacks on this point, then he/she must atleast be a student and graduate from a recommended college which is in the priority list of the certificate issuing department of the country.
  • If a person has a recommendation letter from the graduate college, then he/she always stands a better chance to get the certificate.
