NJ Teaching Certificate Requirements

There are a host of requirements followed by the New Jersey Teaching Certificate examination which candidates can be appear and qualify. The below are details on New Jersey Teaching Certificate requirements.

Minimum criteria to be met by all NJ Teaching certificate applicants:

The below mentioned are some of the mandatory courses and certifications that should be taken in order to qualify for the New Jersey Teaching Certification:

a)      Interested candidates must complete their graduation program that should be taken from the recognised institutions and colleges in the United States.

b)      They should also possess a specialised degree from a top institution in their subject of interest. The master degree or a major course in that subject would be ideal.

c)      Candidates should also appear for the New Jersey Teaching Certificate training examination which when successfully passed would be eligible for the New Jersey Teaching Certificate.

d)     Candidates should also take up trainings which are available in both short and long term which is followed by the issue of the New Jersey Teaching Certificate.

Other requirements to obtain a NJ Teaching certificate:

  1. Candidates need to achieve their minimum level grade in the bachelor’s degree program that they are pursuing or have pursued. The minimum qualification level is a score more than 2.75 out of total score of 4.
  2. The above score levels also apply for high school and secondary level examinations.
  3. Candidates who apply for the New Jersey Teaching Certificate examination would be further subjected to the physiology test.  Sometimes candidates should also display their health fitness levels and awareness of proper nutrition.
  4. Upcoming new requirements should be kept an eye upon by interested students and they must make effort to meet these new requirements.
